September is Social Media Month

DOCKAugust has been a blur here at the brewery; with Davis Beer Week stealing the show and a few new brews in the works, planning Social Media Month has been, shall we say, difficult. But, fear not fans and friends of Sud, we have rolled the theme over the September! Starting this September, we will begin a social media contest every week for the rest of the month. The winner of each week will be announced on the Thursday of that week. Winners will received a Sudwerk T-shirt, a social media shout out, and a display at the Thursday reveal party.

Farmers Market Citrus Gose Lager

Citrus Gose LagerFrom the depths of the cave emerges Sudwerk’s first ever summer seasonal: the Farmers Market Citrus Gose Lager. Gallivanting in at 6.0% ABV, this gose lager boasts a fresh citrus flavor squeezed from our neighbor, Rainwater Ranch’s navel oranges, providing a tangy twist to the traditional salty and sour gose. Flawlessly complimented by the fruity and citrus aromas of the mosaic hop and the lemony dill notes from the sorachi ace hops, this beer is sure to pack a party into your senses.

Inspired by our local Davis farmers market and tested in the trials of our brewery taproom, this beer has become a cornerstone in our tradition of Redefining the American Lager. Crisp and refreshing, this beer belongs in your hand this summer.

The Farmers Market Citrus Gose Lager will be available starting tonight in our taproom, The Dock Store, $12 for a 6-pack of 12oz bottles and for tonight only we will have limited release posters! Get a free poster when you pick up a 6-pack or get a poster by itself for $3.

Join us at the Dock for the release party tonight, the door rolls up at 4pm!

BIG DIPL: Double India Pale Lager

THE BIG DIPL debuted on draft and in 22-ounce bottles at a free, space-themed event, on Friday May 16, at The Sudwerk Dock Store, 2001 Second St., Davis.

We have continued our mission to redefine the American Lager, with a bold brew that is a super nova of hop bitterness and aroma. It showcases the coveted Galaxy hops, a hard-to-find variety from New Zealand that combines the tang of grapefruit, melon and passion fruit. IPA fans will enjoy this highly aromatic, intensely flavorful lager, colliding on the palate for the hoppiest beer ever bottled by Sudwerk.

Sudwerk co-owner Trent Yackzan said, “We’ve been experimenting with Galaxy hops over the past year, and our brewers are really excited to finally release this beer. It’s a flavor profile that you don’t often taste in the Sacramento region.”

Beyond the Galaxy, the UC Davis-trained brewers added Simcoe and Summer hops, topped off with two rounds of dry hopping. It orbits at 9 percent alcohol by volume and 90 IBUs. Because of the higher alcohol content, the taproom will serve it in 13-ounce pours instead of pints.

THE BIG DIPL’s label unleashes a double-headed California bear, surrounded by hop invaders. The Big Dipper is part of the Great Bear constellation, Ursa Major. T-shirts featuring the intergalactic lager’s label will be available at the taproom.
