"Open Country" returns for a special screening at Sudwerk Brewing Co. on Friday 3/7/2025. This is the first time the movie is being shown in Davis after the initial release. The event opens up with a music performance from Red Dog Ash at 7pm.

​Created by UC Davis filmmakers and professors Glenda Drew (of Design) and Jesse Drew (of Cinema and Digital Media), the documentary explores the roots of country music through the lens of the working class.

 

Tickets are $13 presale and $15 at the door. Ticket proceeds will benefit the Davis Live Music Collective, which is a non-profit, volunteer organization formed to curate, organize, host, and promote diverse, high quality concerts in Davis as well as support local children's art, music, and performing arts departments.
