Join us for the 2nd Annual Oktobrewfest 5K on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Sudwerk Restaurant and Brewery in Davis, CA.

This event is all about FUN. It starts off with the Kid's Root Beer Runs at 5:15 (Half and Quarter Mile Distances) and then the 5K (3.1 Mile) Run or Walk at 6:00 PM. This year's course is NEW with a start line right on Second Street in front of Sudwerk Restaurant and Brewery. Runners and walkers will loop 3.1 miles around Davis and finish right in front of the restaurant. There, they'll be greeted with a one-of-a-kind finisher's medal that is both a medal and a bottle opener.* Take it off the chain later and you'll have a keychain. The party doesn't stop there, though. Each participant receives a souvenir cup with the first cold beverage courtesy of Sudwerk. Choose from four microbrews or soda (kid's fun runners receive a root beer float). Appetizers and Oktoberfest-themed food will be available for purchase to enjoy while you listen to the live band, peruse the vendor booths or engage in some of our fun games like yodeling or bratwurst-eating.

Sound fun? Join 1,399 of your closest buddies for this year's party. But don't procrastinate about entering - because once we reach that field limit, we have to close registraiton. (Sorry).

The waiting is over for all Sudwerk fans in Oregon! This last week Sudwerk agreed to partner up with the Summit Beverage Distribution Company out of Medford, Oregon to deliver the freshest Sudwerk beer to the Beaver State.

We're very excited to begin our partnership with Summit Beverage and anxious to get our lager beers in the hands of Oregonians!

– July 5, 2011: Sudwerk Brewery’s Pilsner beer was awarded a Gold Certificate and took home the 1st Place Award in its category at the 2011 California State Fair's Commercial Craft Brew Competition.
 
The California Craft Brew Competition is held every year and is among the most prestigious craft brewing competitions in the country. Sudwerk Brewery has won various awards in this competition over the years, including a “Best of Show” in 2010, and 1998.
 
“We are honored to take a 1st place award this year” said Jay Prahl, Master Brewer at Sudwerk. “The team always strives to create beers to style and when we’re acknowledge for it, it feels great.”

The Sudwerk Brewery has partnered up with the Glidewell Distributing Company  in Fort Smith, Arkansas (http://www.cstoresuccess.com) to bring the decilous Sudwerk to the state "Where the People Rule".  

Its only been available for a short time and it already has people talking.  Hayne B. recently wrote:

" I'll be honest I was expecting beer that was average at best, and I'm always scared when a non German brewery makes a Heffe.  What I got was beyond my expectations, it is the BEST Lager I've had, including Spaten (I personally think their Pils is great), Weinstephaner, Warsteiner, Hoff Brau Haus, etc... The malt base was perfect and the finish nice, clean and crisp; perfect for our 100 degree summers! . ."

Good news for the Central Valley! 

The Sudwerk Brewery and the Delta Sierra Beverage Company (of Modesto, CA) have partnered up to bring the Suds to the Central Valley.  So if you're in Stockon, Modesto, Turlock, Merced or anywhere near those areas JUST ASK FOR A SUDWERK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!

The Sudwerk Brewery and Citizens Who Care for the Elderly of Yolo County came together yet again to bring another successful Davis Beerfest, according to organizers.

This year there were a record 45 breweries in attendance being poured, a record amount of attendees with over 800, and most importantly a record amount of funds raised for the CWC with more than $28,000.

The main attraction of the Davis Beerfest that makes it unique from other beerfests is that it is staffed by the current students from the Master's Brewing Program of UC Davis.

The graduates from the program go on to brew beer around the world.

The Citizens Who Care for the Elderly provide social support services to Yolo County adults and their family caregivers. These services are provided by trained, caring volunteers with the support of their professional staff.
